Yes, you can register for and participate in both AIQ (MCC) and State Counselling simultaneously. However, if you are allotted a seat in both, you must choose one and resign/withdraw from the other within the specified deadline. Holding both allotments permanently is not permitted and may lead to penalty.
"Accept & Freeze" means you are satisfied with the allotted seat and want to confirm it. Your participation in AIQ counselling ends here. "Accept & Upgrade" means you accept the current allotment (so you have a secured seat) but still want to participate in the next round for a better/preferred college. If you get a better seat in the next round, the previous allotment is automatically cancelled.
The registration fee (₹1,000 for General/OBC, ₹500 for SC/ST/PwBD) is generally non-refundable. However, the security deposit (₹10,000 for General/OBC, ₹5,000 for SC/ST/PwBD) is refundable if you report to the allotted college and later withdraw, or if you are not allotted any seat. For Deemed Universities, the refund policy is more complex — check the MCC notification carefully.
MCC allows you to fill choices for all available colleges in the AIQ pool — there is no strict limit on the number of choices. Typically, students can fill 100–200+ choices. The key is to arrange them in the correct order of preference, as the system allots the highest-preference seat available based on your rank and category. Fill as many choices as possible, including less-preferred options as safety nets.
No. For MCC AIQ counselling, OBC-NCL and EWS certificates must be issued after 1 April of the counselling year (2026). Old certificates are not accepted. You must obtain a fresh certificate from your competent authority (Tehsil/SDM office). Some state counselling authorities may have slightly different requirements — always check the state notification.
BAMS (Ayurveda) seats are primarily filled through State AYUSH Counselling, not MCC. MCC handles mainly MBBS, BDS, and seats in Central/Deemed institutions. A few BAMS seats in Central Universities may be part of MCC counselling. For the majority of BAMS seats in Govt and Private Ayurveda colleges, you must register for your state's AYUSH/Health counselling authority separately.
If you fail to report to the allotted college within the specified reporting window, your seat is cancelled and forfeited. Additionally, your security deposit (₹10,000 or ₹5,000) is also forfeited. You may be debarred from participating in further rounds of that counselling cycle depending on the rules. Always report on time or apply for withdrawal formally before the deadline.
For MCC AIQ counselling, document verification is done online on the portal itself. However, you must physically report to the allotted college within the deadline with original documents for final admission formalities and fee payment. Some states conduct physical reporting at a centralized location first, then to the college. Read your allotment letter carefully for specific instructions.
